The Physical Therapy department at Global University offers the following undergraduate program:
Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy
The Physical Therapy major at Global University is a comprehensive program designed to prepare students to become competent, compassionate, and ethical physical therapists able to effectively treat patients in a variety of healthcare settings. Graduates will be highly dedicated professionals who demonstrate clinical excellence through exceptional critical thinking, communication, patient education, advocacy, practice management and research skills.
The Physical Therapy program is a comprehensive curriculum spanning four years, encompassing eleven consecutive semesters. It seamlessly blends didactic and clinical courses within small class sizes, meticulously crafted to equip therapists with the skills necessary to excel in diverse clinical environments. Graduates of this program are primed to undertake the national examination (colloquium), securing licensure to practice in Lebanon and become esteemed members of the Lebanese Order of Physical Therapists.
The program encompasses foundational courses in biology, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, pathophysiology, and exercise physiology, among others. Additionally, it provides comprehensive training in assessment tools for Physical Therapy and evidence-based techniques for rehabilitation across various domains, including musculoskeletal, neurological, pediatric, geriatric, sports injuries, cardio-pulmonary, and uro-gynecological rehabilitation. The overarching goal is to facilitate optimal health and function in individuals.
The program also includes clinical education experiences (internships) in different centers and hospitals under the supervision of experienced training mentors.
